In addition to dogs, our patients include cats, rabbits, ferrets.

Individual care for everyone

Our clients are a diverse group of animals with diverse needs. From dogs who have undergone orthopedic or neurological surgeries to athletes, working dogs or senior dogs. Each animal is unique, has different needs and different issues they come to us with. That is why we treat each patient individually, and with the utmost professionalism, we create a customized rehabilitation plan to ensure that the care and rehabilitation is comprehensive to achieve the best results and enhance the animal's quality of life.

Manual therapy

Manual techniques are the building blocks of our rehabilitation. The techniques we have perfected for your pet over the years can provide immediate relief from musculoskeletal pain. Years of study and practice in the fields of Dorn Method, massage, fascial techniques, visceral therapy, chiropractic, and many others create a comprehensive professional care and unique treatment for our patients.

Physical therapy

Physical therapy uses various forms of physical energy to treat and relieve pain, improve the functionality of the affected area, speed healing and restore movement. At Medicanima, the physical therapies we use are mainly aquatherapy, electrotherapy, thermotherapy, magnetotherapy, and MLS laser.

Conditioning exercises

We use active exercise for canine athletes, as well as for post-surgical care or for senior dogs and dogs females after giving birth. A set of active exercises on stable and balance equipment help to restore and strengthen muscle strength, improve physical condition and improve the dog's mental focus.

Comfort for all

We know that caring for a sick pet is very demanding for the owner. So we try to make the physiotherapy sessions more pleasant for the owners by providing a comfortable and friendly environment. Relaxing music, fresh coffee or delicious tea, and a nice place to sit while the physiotherapist takes care of your pet.

Aquatherapy and hydrotherapy

Aquatherapy is an integral part of care for many patients. It is a very effective method in which the dog or cat walks on an underwater belt in warm water. The physiotherapist adjusts the speed and inclination of the belt or counter-current to the patient's capabilities. The animal is floated through the water, which allows it to move without straining the joints. At the same time, however, it must overcome the resistance of the water, so that the deep and superficial muscles are strengthened very effectively. Aquatic therapy is an indispensable part of rehabilitation for paralyzed dogs and cats, neurological problems, orthopedic diseases and post-surgical conditions, non-specific back pain, and overweight dogs. But we also use it in sporting dogs in preparation for sport or as part of recovery after exercise.

Aquatherapy is often supplemented by water jet massage and whirlpool, the latter being indispensable mainly for neurological and orthopaedic patients or dogs in recovery.

Years of experience

Our team consists of professional physiotherapists with years of experience. They are enthusiasts in the field who deepen their knowledge at seminars, conferences and professional courses. So you can be sure that your pet will be in the best hands.

The best equipment

In the rehabilitation department we have the latest model of the Czech aquatrapeutic bath VETTRONIC, which we participated in the development of. MLS laser of the highest category and magnetotherapy devices from the top company M-Therapy, which we provide for rent.

Laser Therapy

Laser is a source of polarized radiation. The effects of laser are anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, analgesic, biostimulating and regenerative. It is a non-invasive method, the treatment time of MLS laser is very short. MLS laser is suitable for orthopedic, neurological patients. In dermatological problems, non-healing, open wounds or post-traumatic conditions. It also finds its use in veterinary dentistry, mainly for gyngivitis, etc. The treatment is painless and so it can be applied even very shortly after injuries or operations to promote healing.
